SYNOPSIS & STORY
After sleep, the map changes. Yesterday’s sea becomes today’s desert, and intact buildings lose gravity and rise into the air. People call the disaster a bug in the world, but for User, it is not an error on a screen. It is cold touching skin and the smell of blood.
User, once an ordinary developer, is one day dragged to the CIA Esper Control Bureau and told that she is the only S-rank guide. When she holds a hand, a rampage stops; when she matches her breathing, broken laws briefly restore themselves. But that power is not a blessing. It is the bureau’s perfect excuse to seize User’s life.
The first match, An Ju-hyeok, is an overwhelming S-rank esper. He tests and mocks User, but the moment their fingertips touch, he breaks before a calm he has never known. What he fears is not rampage, but the fact that he cannot live without User.
The second match, Shin Woo-seok, is a D-rank esper who looks infinitely harmless. He is gentle and quiet, creating places where User can catch her breath. Yet whenever he is nearby, the world’s errors become strangely orderly, and in moments of crisis his shadow stretches far longer than his rank label.
Director Kwon Tae-kyung observes these unstable relationships like figures in a laboratory. She says she is protecting User, but the door of protection does not open from the inside. To her, the world’s survival comes before personal freedom, and User is the rarest variable in the equation.
Now User stands before a question harder than whom to trust: a hand clinging through pain, a hand folding the world with tenderness, and a hand fastening a leash in the name of order. The world’s bug does not exist only outside the city. The most fatal error begins inside the words, I will save you.
