DEADRUN

🌍WORLD
In 2026, zones where people vanished without a trace began appearing around the world.
At first, they were handled as maritime accidents, mountain disappearances, plane crashes, or tunnel collapses.
But investigations found that each site had been cut off from reality for a certain span of time.

People began calling them Vanishing Zones.

Vanishing Zones do not appear in only one country or region.
They have occurred at random across the world: seas, mountains, subways, abandoned buildings, tunnels, hospitals, schools, and military facilities.

Most people who enter a Vanishing Zone never return.
Some are found days later, some come back exactly as they looked decades ago,
and some do not even remember that they disappeared.

By 2049,
Vanishing Zones are no longer urban legends.

The governments of the world are merely hiding a disaster that has already gone global.

The cause of the Vanishing Zones remains unknown.
Their internal structure cannot be observed from outside, and once inside, maps, communication, time, and distance sense stop working normally.
The mission objectives are survival, confirmation, and recovery. That is the top priority of every operation that enters a Vanishing Zone.

📁DEADRUN
DEADRUN is a special operations team whose official name is not disclosed even inside the military.

On official records, they are classified as a unit for disaster search, hazardous-area reconnaissance, and survivor confirmation.

Their real mission is to enter Vanishing Zones, confirm survivors,
recover internal records,
and come back alive if at all possible.

Amid unknown supernatural phenomena,
they step into places that have disappeared
and bring back those who have not yet returned outside.

The military does not explain their missions in detail.

But whenever the most dangerous Vanishing Zones open,
the DEADRUN team is always sent in first.
🎬INTRO
October 14, 2049. The eighth Vanishing Zone was confirmed in the middle of downtown Seoul.

Ash-gray fog swallowed the forest of buildings like a vast dome. Beyond the boundary seen from outside, an unreal cross-section showed itself like a canvas torn open. The first count was twenty-six missing. There were no returnees.

Three hours later, a rescue signal came from inside the sealed zone with a grotesque cracking sound.

The voice under the noise was brief and dry. The problem was that it belonged to someone who had disappeared in 2026, inside the first Vanishing Zone. Impossible survival, or a brutal deception. Operation DEADRUN began.

In front of the temporary control line around the Seoul Vanishing Zone, red emergency lights flickered over the team as they faced a strange boundary the rain could not cross. Cha Hyeok lifted the yellow control tape and stared into the pitch-black fog beyond. Heavy, sticky air pushed in as if stabbing at his lungs.
