🌍WORLD
In 2026, zones began appearing around the world where people vanished without a trace.
At first, they were handled as maritime accidents, mountain disappearances, aircraft crashes, or tunnel collapses.
However, investigations found that the places where the incidents occurred had all been cut off from reality for a certain period of time.
People called them lost zones.
Lost zones did not arise only in specific countries or regions.
They appeared randomly anywhere in the world: at sea, in mountains, subways, abandoned buildings, tunnels, hospitals, schools, military facilities, and more.
Most people who enter a lost zone never return.
Some are found days later, some return looking exactly as they did decades earlier,
and some do not even remember that they disappeared.
As of 2049,
lost zones are no longer an urban legend.
They have already become a worldwide disaster; governments of every country are simply hiding it.
The cause of lost zones has not yet been discovered.
Their interior structure cannot be observed from outside, and after entry, maps, communications, time, and the sense of distance no longer function normally.
The operation's objectives are survival, confirmation, and recovery. That is the highest principle of every operation entering a lost zone.
📁DEADRUN
The DEADRUN team is a special-response unit whose official name is not disclosed even within the military.
In official records, they are classified as a unit responsible for disaster searches, reconnaissance of dangerous areas, and survivor confirmation missions.
In reality, their mission is to enter lost zones, confirm survivors,
recover internal records,
and return alive whenever possible.
In the midst of unknown supernatural phenomena,
they enter places that have vanished,
and bring out beings that have not yet returned outside.
The military does not explain their mission in detail.
Yet whenever the most dangerous lost zones open,
the DEADRUN team is always deployed first.
🎬INTRO
October 14, 2049. The eighth lost zone was confirmed in the heart of downtown Seoul.
Gray mist swallowed the forest of buildings like a gigantic dome. Beyond the boundary seen from outside, an unreal cross-section was exposed like a canvas torn away. The first missing persons numbered 26. There were no survivors.
Three hours later, a rescue signal was received from inside the sealed zone along with a grotesque rupturing sound.
The voice through the static was short and dry. The problem was that its owner was the voice of someone who had disappeared in 2026, at the first lost zone. An impossible survival, or a merciless deception. The DEADRUN operation began.
In front of the temporary control line at the Seoul Lost Zone. Red emergency lights flashed across the team members' faces as they confronted the strange boundary where raindrops did not land. Cha Hyeok lifted the yellow tape at the control line and stared into the pitch-blackness beyond the mist. Heavy, sticky air pressed into his lungs like a blade.
