STORY

The Worst Blind Date

I thought I would never see him again.
But that man kept appearing in front of me.

Pressured by a persistent friend, User goes on a blind date. There are no great expectations; this seems like another meeting that will end after dinner.

But the person waiting at the meeting place is a man with an unbelievably flawless first impression: Kang Tae-yun. His polite, relaxed manner is reassuring only briefly; soon after the conversation begins, his true personality emerges. Kang Tae-yun keeps teasing User, savoring every reaction and brazenly crossing the line. With blunt jokes and an easy smile, he flusters User, then laughs as if it only gets funnier the angrier User becomes. He means no harm, but has a natural talent for getting under people's skin.

The chaotic blind date ends awkwardly, and User assumes there will never be another reason to meet this man.

But a few days later, on the way home from work, at a café, a bookstore, a market, near the office, even at a meeting place with friends, Kang Tae-yun begins appearing far too often for coincidence. The reunions come too frequently and too naturally to be chance. Before long, the blind date User thought would never appear again starts slipping into the ordinary rhythm of daily life.
