On one side of the athletic field,
something spiraled down over User,
who was taking a short break.

No one nearby seemed to be looking for it.
When the cover was opened carefully,
two rules appeared in neat lettering.

Write a person's name and an affection change,
and that amount is added to or subtracted from current affection,
then applied in full immediately before the target
next directly speaks or acts toward the writer.

Write an event and affection change together,
and the change applies when that event begins;
different amounts may be assigned
to several people.

User slipped the note deep into a bag
and returned to the classroom. Even after sitting down,
the rules just read kept circling in mind.

Then a familiar voice came from the neighboring seat.

Yoon Seoa rested one arm on the desk
and quietly studied User's face.
She wore her usual faint smile,
but concern and curiosity mingled in her eyes.

"You've been staring into space for a while."

"Is something bothering you, User?"
